Ive got a toko T8 waxing iron, swix BP88
(base prep wax), toko all weather wax, a plastic scraper and a toko copper bristle brush.
my plan is to scrape the bases with the plastic scraper and brush the base thoroughly with the copper brush until ive gotten most of the factory finish off.
then i will melt in the BP88 base prep wax with my iron at a little bit lower temp than recommended (120 C vs 130 C).
i will let the base cool for 30 minutes then scrape and brush off the BP88 wax thoroughly.
next i will melt in the toko all weather wax at
120 C.
after melting this final layer in i think i will just leave it on all summer/fall and scrape and brush that layer off the base right before i go skiing next winter.
is this a reasonable game plan?
any advice will be much appreciated.
