How to keep progressing during offseason

This was going to be my second full season in the park, and third on skis overall (I live in Minnesota). My question is, how do y’all go about keeping progression alive or not falling off too much when you can’t ski due to offseason? Feedback from anyone would be great but would love to hear from people like myself who only get like 4-5 months a year on the hill.

this plus I do rail tricks on foam rollers sometimes but idk if it actually helps at all

I also just practice tricks on this plank of wood like 6 inches off the ground. Good for learning like 2s on and helps a little with balance.

Tramps and diving boards are your friends. If you can get a tramp jump on it every day and focus on the fundamentals of a good pop and keeping your eyes level on the horizon. Then work up to doing 180s then 360s. Same thing with diving boards but I imagine any place that has those will be closed for a while. The biggest thing is getting yourself in the air every day. Humans are not really designed to be in the air so you need to train your body to get used to floating.

Pick up a summer sport like skateboarding, biking, or blading. They all help with skills you can’t really exercise on a trampoline/summer setup such as line choice

Go run. Staying in shape is key. I am turning 28 in May but I progressed more this year than the last 3 combined probably because I got serious about my health and I was able to ski longer and honestly take bigger "hits" than I would have in the past.

Cliff diving if you can will get your body used to lots of hang time while being inverted in a "safe enviroment".

You guys are the bomb!! Thanks for all the replies! I’m going to continue to run every day and try to get on a trampoline as much as I can! Maybe pick up some blades as well since there’s a skatepark by my place that I can practice on rails!

Hey fellow Minnesotan! Another good thing is riding your bike everywhere. I rode my bike to work a couple times a week last summer and it made a huge difference in leg strength and endurance.

For the training rail, I just do it in shoes but you could probably do it in ski boots to get used to more weight.

Last summer i got a slack line and it improved my balance so much. Its kinda tough at first but after a few weeks you can really start to see a difference in your balance.

If you have access to a gymnastics center near you, all the better. If not invest in buying a trampoline. Your air awareness will skyrocket.

Some people really dont like this, but start working out as well. lots of biking, core/back exercises. Essentially its "training". it wasnt till i started skiing that I actually considered going to the gym and things like that
