I’m pretty sure someone made a thread already but can’t really remember. I’ll get the ball rolling anyway with my predictions for mens ski Hakuba:

1. Kristofer Turdell
2. Tanner
3. Craig Murray

Calling it now: they are really gonna struggle to compete in Hakuba. In fact it’s probably dangerous if the tour goes ahead with these conditions.

I really hate how much FWT reward tricks. All these skiers so far have thrown shitty and tiny 360s just because they know a stylish straightair won't even come close to a shitty 360.

Totally agree, it feels like I'm watching a freestyle comp from 10 years ago. Style and flow aren't being rewarded as much as throwing small no-grab threes both directions. Shame Tanner got caught up in the flat light.

Such a shame about Tanner man. His drop in was so damned smooth. If he kept that momentum I reckon he woulda come close to taking out the stage.

This really pissed me off. Even X Games Big Air, which is far more fast paced, manages to show the standings more often than they did. Such a guessing game trying to keep up with who was where.

Having said that though my favourite run of the day was from a chick - Elizabeth Gerritzen (I’m not too familiar with the girls ski names, so this might not be the right one) no tricks, just had a nice clean and fluid run down the fall line. Was a nice break from all the shitty threes as mentioned from above.

Tabke had an absolute heater of a Line. Laced everything and had mad flow. I Was really bummed to see ski boss crash, switch one was mad stiley, and he was one of the most confident looking going into the middle section, especially considering the snow conditions. Isaac Freeland also looked damn good, and Murray had a solid line. I thought he was slightly underscored.

That's Lorraine Huber, she competed on the tour from 2013 through 2018, 2012 if you include FWQs. I think she knows what she is talking about.

Was just going to say this, she defs knows what she's talking about just isn't used to being a commentator. That being said I feel like the commentary for the tour has been lacking for a long time, Derek Foose did a sick job last year but it's usually pretty stale.

Can agree with that, I really liked the commentating back in, I think it was 2016? McFly and Dave Mailman combo was great. While a bit awkward since English isn't his first language I love how passionate and excited McFly is and his knowledge of the tour is second to none, Dave Mailman was a perfect combo with him since he has a lot of commentating experience from his time in the surfing world and his lack of knowledge was covered by McFly. Sad to see McFly doing less and less of the commenting over the last couple of years.

She can be the raddest fuckin' skier on earth - doesn't change the fact that she commented on the skiing like she was a middle aged woman holding her chest and moaning over some shitty brunch.

Maybe that was too harsh. But shit. I've had complements after mediocre sex that sounded more sincere than her commentary.

Also, tanner was fucking NUKING down that face. Sucks he ate shit but good to see, last year seemed like at some venues he was skiing scared.

Because it is complicated as fuck to get a nice live broadcast. 2 years ago the KH broadcast had big dead spots since it was -30 out, last year the person back in europe who puts the feed online fucked up and broadcasted a video of himself at the computer for a while. The production is massive and takes so many resources to make it happen, if the weather even allows it to happen. Remember how shitty so many of the live broadcasts were last year? Be happy, watch the good version on tuesday.

just watched a lady boarder take 30 seconds to scrape heelside down a mini couloir. hot take (?) their division needs to step it up or they shouldn't get to compete at this level
