I have a pair of Head Caddies and some Lib Tech pow skis of unknown model and vintage. Both pairs are totally worn out.
I don't know when I'll be able to get new gear but I'm looking to get some more ideas floating around.
I'm looking for a park/all mountain ski and a freestyle oriented big mountain ski that I will be using for touring and resort skiing on deeper days. Also looking to get some carving skis to use for instructing, CSIA levelling up and carving when it's too icy for anything else.
Hoping to have this quiver for at least a couple seasons and they could be going anywhere in the world.
I'm not too picky about equipment- I've been pretty happy with any ski I've used once I got the feel of them.
I'm 6'1", 190 lbs. I generally ski anywhere from 70-150 days a year and I ski everything, the more diverse terrain the better. I like to go fast and want to go faster, but I'm more of a playful jibby skier at heart. My favourite terrain is pillows, small-medium drops and trees.
Prefer skis around 185+ cm for park, 185-190+ for big mountain. I haven't owned directional skis in years so I really have no idea what to look for in that department.
I'm intrigued by the Icelantic Nomad 95 for a park/all mountain ski and the RMU YLE 116 for a big mountain/powder/touring ski.
Also the ON3P Jeffery/Kartel series.
My overall favorite ski ever was the 08 Volkl Karmas, mostly because they lasted twice as long as any other ski I've used. They were my only ski for several years.
Anyway let me know what your favourite skis are and why. Any year, I want to know about 'em. Thanks!
