So last year I was riding the OG b&e's with basically no heel/toe piece because they were so old, and I was used to them not making full contact with my pivots. This spring I got a pair of il moro's, and for some reason there is still maybe 2-4 mm of a gap between the base of my toe piece and the toe base of my pivots. I can move my toe slightly up and down while clicked in. Forward pressure is fine, everything is mounted correctly, the only thing I can find online is that the year of pivots I got have a defect which I'm experiencing. (17/18 black/highlighter) Anyone got tips on ways I can minimize this gap? Really don't feel like dealing with this all season and/or getting new pivots and remounting on skis I got less than a year ago.
You are correct - there is no fix for 17/18 Pivot WTR toepiece. The bindings will still stress test ok, but you won't be able to eliminate that gap. I went through the same thing and did a ton of research and talked to shops. There is a thread in here somewhere with pics about it.
