Replying to New skier looking to purchase an all mountain set up - help!
Just started skiing last year, couldn’t be more excited to pursue the sport but I don’t know shit when it comes down to gear.
Overview:
5’5, 125lbs, intermediate skier. (I switched from skiing to snowboarding last year but luckily my work schedule let me have a ton of days at the hill to make good progress)
My current set up is 2017/18 Fischer My Ranger 98s 156cm with dynafit radical bindings. They’re my only set up and I feel like they saw too many groomer/crusty days to justify only riding on a touring set up.
Feel free to shame me for that.
I had so much fun riding them but at the end of the season I was feeling like they were lacking in some respects - though it just may have been my skill level.
I felt unstable with lots of speed and wasn’t always able to feel comfortable keeping up with the pack. I was still craving more speed and have been pointed in the direction of longer skis.
Im looking for a set of skis that are gonna help me kill it when it hasn’t snowed in a week and have a little bit of fun in the park.
I have the opportunity to grab a set of RMU Valhalla 95 162 cm prototypes with marker squires for fairly cheap - good choice? too much ski?
