If you over or under rotate a spin is it better to make you legs and body go limp?

i shitwhipped my ass on an overrotated 5 years ago and i was wondering if i wouldve faired better by going limp so i didnt sling shot my head into the snow.

If you have time to think about over/under rotating while you’re in the air you are going to get fucked up regardless

I see what you're thinking. Kind of like a drunk in a car accident, rag doll effect comes into play. But I don't think it works like that when your over or under rotating. IDK though, give them both a try and report back on your findings.

if you have the reaction time and awareness to go limp, then you would never be in that situation anyways

pull your head in and be prepared to misty roll really aggressively if you land sideways. Going limp can transfer more energy to your head, say if you're landing on your back. If you keep your head forward, and tucked in, you'll be fine but if you let yourself go limp, you'll slam your dome. Landing on your back/backseat while trying to pull your head up can also cause you to strain the fuck out of your neck and won't be very fun.

In my humble experience it's better to tumble out tucked up. People get really fucked up by going limp and either doing a scorpion or head slap. Realistically though you wont really think about it. You can practice falling on skis just be bailing down a run but it's not the same as falling from a cliff or jump or something like that.

I would say if you’re underrotating just shuffle the fuck out of it or take it an extra 180 on overrotation. Otherwise just fall however has worked the best for you in your past experience.

Layout or tuck and land on or near your feet. I feel like going limp on a jump is like saying "jesus take the wheel". Jesus doesn't give a fuck about your cork 7, and if he did, he's probably routing for you to eat massive shit. You can't tell me Jesus doesn't love a good yard sale.

Rag doll is the move. Anywhere thats tense is likely to break rather than bend. That being said, under/overotating spins (or any other crash that involves suddenly catching an edge) generally ends in the head whiplashing into the ground, known colliquially as The Bonehammer.

like others said depends on how u fall. if you land 90 and clip ur edge, ur gonna get smacked regardless.

personally i never go limp, unless i already know im 110% fucked in the air. i can recall many times where i kept my neck up where i otherwise would have whiplashed my head so hard id get knocked out.

I thought it was called getting shitwhipped.
Do you think curling up into a ball but staying somewhat loose is the best option? I feel like tucking your head into your chest and getting close to a fetal position might be the way to go. The problem with landing sideways with stiff legs and catching an edge seems to be that the stiff legs and body transfer all that energy into whipping your head straight towards the ground.
