wasatch_ratYou're girlfriend will like living in sugar house, the avenues, downtown or the liberty park area. These are the places with the most to do for non skiers. Park city is also rad but quite a bit more expensive, and the all mountain skiing isn't as good. Sugar house us the most fun swanky urban lifestyle type area but still super close to the mountains. Dont get a place on the west side of the city. In general the southeast part of the salt lake valley is where you want to be.
.nastyI live in Kimball junction, honestly it’s great if you can find the right place for the right price. I’m only 45 mins from Alta, (unless there’s traffic but I always go real early anyway), and out of the smog that the city gets but I can still work within a mountain town type of community which is something I personally value but that’s just me.
Titus69Honestly just start out in salt lake and live in Millcreek or somewhere between the highway to PC and the cottonwood canyons, brighton or PC is a good place to learn for your wife, epic pass isnt to pricey but you can only ski PC in utah. Has good groomers but full of Jerry's, and also gets real tracked out after storms, brighton you can find endless pow on weekdays in the side country, also has super mellow runs for beginners. As others said park city is gonna be expensive as fuck compared to slc, we also dont need more people up here either cause living here for the summer sucks besides the 10-15 degree difference from the valley, offers great outdoor activities but just a busy place to be for how small it is.
Also Utah sucks, dont come here.
SkiBum.You’re the type of Park City person that’s the worst. “We don’t need more people
here” it’s to busy and I’m to high on my horse because I rent a room in a condo with 4 other people but I “live” in Park City.
I’m sure you also complain about parking road bikers and Vail.
Titus69Lmao I usually live in salt lake but have been house sitting in PC for the summer, nice assumption though. It's literally a fact even in the summer when I go out to work theres usually some shitty traffic full of Texans and southern cali people, it's to small to have such a population.
.nastyOh heck it’s more just the mass amounts of commuters from the valley than full on tourists. I get it, it’s expensive so most just live down there to save a buck. Kind of defeats the whole culture of a mountain community though.
Titus69Yeah it is that too but mid summer can suck ass with just all the dumbass's who come here to escape their hometown heat of a 15 degree difference for the summer. Still just so much development going on up here, everyone hears PC offers good skiing, has mtn biking everywhere and immediately just move here. People who've been here for 10+ years are bitching about it, wasnt until the last like 5 years that it really picked up I guess.
SkiBum.You don’t even live here. You’re house sitting. You can’t bitch about anything.

PeppermillRenoHouse sitting implies hes getting hooked up with free/no rent to live in Park City and hes bitching up a storm about that what a tool. PC isn't even that expensive (apart from lodging/housing) you can get a pizza/burrito/beer for the same price as anywhere else. I get wanted to be closer to AltaBird in the winter but what idiot wouldn't rather live in Park City the summer.
