Replying to There is no good movies anymore
I just watched Donnie Darko again for the hundredth time. And these days nothing at all compares too it. DD deals with very intense themes of pre-determinism, the balance of consciousness, the shadow of the unconscious and time travel.
Whereas films these days only really deal with very basic themes. The primary one being the myth of the hero, where X character overcomes his personal challenges to slay the dragon and live happily ever after (which is seen in superhero movies)
As movies have become more accessible the quality of film goes down in order to cater to the masses interests, subsequently film has become retarded.
I am just waiting for the day when these low IQ films collapse (death rebirth cycle) And something decent pops up again.
