I'm an advanced skier both on and off-piste but I only started skiing park this winter and my progress was a lot slower than I'd hoped it would be. I ski switch very well, can jump into a 180 on flat ground or off very small to large knuckles, can safety/mute grab easily off small/medium park jumps, and can slide into a box then slide back to front or switch out.
But no matter how many times I tried hitting straight airs on medium-sized park jumps, I just can't seem to get comfortable in the air. I don't think it's fear; I hit equal sized natural features or bigger off-piste. For whatever reason I just don't feel in control jumping off medium+ park jumps at all. I land them 95% of the time, but they don't look pretty and I'm not in good control. And since I'm not in control, I'm not going to try to do a 3 or a more difficult grab.
Sadly, ski season is over for me now, so I can't just go out and keep hitting them until I feel better on them. So what can I do this offseason, other than tramp parks, to get myself better able to be more comfortable in the air once winter rolls around again?
