Bruh I do inline skating and it boggles my mind how big the execution barrier and ceiling are in skateboarding. To ollie, you need to learn to pop up yourself and the board, straighten out the board, and land on it cleanly. Then you have to learn to ollie up and down shit, where in the former case you have to make sure the whole board actually clears whatever you're ollieing up onto. Along with that, you have to learn to ollie onto a ledge or rail to grind it. Inline skaters like me can just fucking jump onto and off of everything. I'm a low level inline skater but can straight air like a 5 stair ez and jump onto lower boxes and rails. Then after ollieing you can learn flip tricks, which are also hard, and then you can mix those into grinds and manuals and shit, which makes the possibilities for flip to grind/grind to flip tricks endless. Some flip tricks by themselves are also super difficult. You also have four stances to learn stuff in. Props to skateboarders for being so dedicated and persistent bc I've tried to learn to ollie before and it was pretty pathetic lol.

If a skateboard was attached to your feet it would be easier to compare.

Took me a year to ollie high/consistently enough to grind a rail. I was able to do 2s on a rail with blades over a weekend of jibing

I jumped on a skateboard once. It went almost exactly like my first time hitting a box on skis....but on pavement. I'll never do that again.

Learning to cruise is easy and takes like a week. That happens to everyone that starts skateboarding. The truly hard part is learning grinds and flip tricks

Even I'd say skateboarding and I'm primarily a lollerblader. Entry level skateboarding is really hard whereas entry level rollerblading is not. Really only the barrier for advanced rollerblade tricks is hard. It's really hard to, for example, spin into a topside grind on a handrail and then do a switchup then spin out and you can't really bail, you're just gonna get wrecked on the rail if you miss.

Yeah high level aggressive inline is super technical with all the switchups and spins and shit, idk how technical it is compared to flip tricks into and out of grinds on skateboards but both are hard. Inline def more flashy tho cuz they have an easier time going huge on ramps and doing long grinds.
