Hey all, Im thinking about giving some funky new life to an old pair of 2016 kartels that i picked up for super cheap (without bindings). I don't really love the graphics so I wanted to try and sand the hell out of the topsheet, apply several coats of primer and lay down a nice matte black or white coat of paint; super simple and great for stickers potentially, maybe even some artwork! I just don't know what the best way to seal the topsheets back up would be- anybody have any experience with this?
I'm confident in my understanding of ski construction and methodical painting/power tool skills, just not sure what the best materials that are actually used by ski companies would be (@on3p). I'm guessing that polyurethane would chip like crazy, and only certain types of epoxy are flexible enough to withstand buttering, etc and i heard that UV resistant epoxy is a good look. Any tips would be super helpful!
