Shred Sauce Desktop

When I try to play shredsauce on my desktop it is insanely laggy and pretty much unplayable, maybe it is because I'm doing this in the website and not on the downloadable version? If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them. If I'm an idiot and the downloadable version is the way to go can somebody link that for me, I can't seem to find it.

avoid maps with trees, they make the game lag so hard sometimes even on a good rig
