Beginning at 18.Fun or suffering?

First of all i have to say hello.Sorry for my english i am not a native speaker so...Anyway.I have done ski 4 times in my whole life.First one pretty young (about 4y.o or smthing).I remember nothing.Second one at 15.I did ski.V's ,Turn V's, a little bit paraller, slide down some Europe blues.Pizza stuffs.Second and Third time before 2 years.Again V's, better paraller,Blues and 1 Red with my pants dirty.Everything without instructor.(Prices are insanly high).2018 no snow,no fun.First of all i have to say my GOALS.My GOAL is to have fun.Fun means extreme things soo....blacks,freeride and stuff like that.Is my GOAL realistic?Or is it too late?I see a lot of 7y.o ski and ride like demons.I feel embarassed.How much time it would take me to do staffs like that if I am going to ski center about 10+ times per year without instructor(or at regural basis at least)?
And the final and most important question.Ski or Snowboard?

I started skiing seriously at 19, and while I know I wont ever be on the level of some skiers, I find that with persistent practice i can get better regardless that I started when I was older.

I am not competitive.I want to enjoy snow.Just that.I want to skiing and have fun.But when i see kids do stuff like that i can understand that its late.

I didn't start skiing seriously til 22. I'm not a amazing skier but I can certainly rip some steeps after doing it so many years in a row. The more you ski the better you will get. So just ski a much as possible.
If your having fun cruising down groomers or some deep pow who cares what the color of the run is?
If your really feel your insecure about your ability just take some classes.

Also ski. Unless you like snowboarding. Or monoski. Who cares if your on the mountain. Its all sliding down a snow covered mountain.

I just want to go at ski center and ride the mountain and having fun.But if this is gonna happen after 5+ years i dont think its worth of time.There are a lot of sports out there and ski is expensive one so i want a payback for my effort.If you know what i mean...

It's never too late at least before 30 to get somewhat comfortable with parks, but it's never too late at any age to have fun.

Go lap around, meet some friends, try some tricks, drink some beers. If you get good, sweet. If you kind of suck but have a blast that's awesome as well.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself, and go have a good time.

I would definitely tell you to go for it, hopefully you'll have some muscle memory because skiing is like riding a bike, it comes back to you. And fun doesn't necessarily mean blacks and freeriding, you can have fun just by getting back into it and making progress. Good luck!

Blacks are more about personal goal.My main goal is to slide in and out of ski track with comfortness.Thats my main goal.

I started at 18, my family never went skiing. I'm 30 now and I got 200 days last season. Stick with it even if you dont love it now.

I new how to ski as a kid went a couple of times.
Never had money to buy gear so saved up for some time and went to revelstoke where I am now.

After skiing about 10x before revelstoke, I can now ski the whole mountain confidently after about another 10 days.
it took me a day to learn rails even though I still suck and am working on grabs now.

If you want to be good you'll be good. Don't let your mind place limits

I've now skied say 30 days in my life and feel like I'm pretty damned good given that

wow.A lot of days.Propably you can ski every slope.Except the devil ones.This year I ll give my best.My father and my uncle ski pretty well.They cant come up to the mountain at the moment.They laugh at me when i say that its late or i need instructor.They are solo-learn.

Never too late. My first time on skis was at 34 years old. I learned quick because a friend taught me and I live close to several ski places so I went often. Just go as much as you can. Everyday you will notice improvement. I am happy at the end of the day to come home with a lesson learned out on the hill. Most importantly have fun

Try to make some friends to ski with (start conversations on the chairlift). You'll improve much faster than by skiing alone.

Kosko, don't worry you will be fine. The more you ski the better you'll get. Challenge yourself and you'll improve. Definitely ski with other people or at least ask people for tips; it will help. 18 is not too late by any means.

As long as you have a big smile and love what you are doing then it's never too late! (I broke my back as a kid and didn't start until passed the big 30 against docs orders = as a life long fan the best thing I've ever done!) :)
