An El Nino is coming this winter. Does anyone know how it will affect the season and which areas might get better snow than others?

It's meaningless, well not entirely but weather patterns are far more complicated than [if sea surface temps are X here then precipitation is Y there and Z there] go read opensnow.com if you want to get into detailed snow forecasting.

ENSO is a validated theory. Sure it's not 100% accurate but it gives a good general idea of how shitty or great your winter may be. Here's ski areas for this year. Generally, during El Nino years (warmer oceanic waters in the Pacific) the southern Rockies and southern United States receive more precipitation but it's also warmer s. La Nina is the opposite where cooler oceanic temps shift the jetstream north slightly and bring more snow to the northern rockies.
