reeskiOr does one guy in a group suffice?
B.GillisIn all reality there is no such thing as side country. You leave the the resort boundary and you are officially in the backcountry. You should all have beacons, shovels and probes and know how to use them. Multiple deaths in the slopes adjacent to JHMR in recent years.
reeskiOk thanks. We will stay inbounds
OregonDeadActually you should just continue the process of getting educated. Any danger doesn’t care if you are inbounds or if you are doing another activity where you don’t even have your ski gear. You can’t spend your whole life inbounds.
cydwhitYes. You can spend your whole life inbounds. Especially when we're talking about Village side country which takes a remarkable number of lives every year. It's not a bad idea actually. There is no situation, no spring day, no anything when it would be appropriate to leave the gates at the Village without everyone in your group having gear and knowing how to use it.
