Off season training?

I don't live in Whistler or a random place in Scandinavia so I don't have access to trampoline parks designed for training. Unfortunately for me, I live in Las Vegas, where there is no snow. There aren't any kind of synthetic parks near here either. What do I do to improve when I have virtually nothing to work with? I was looking into the Ski Addiction Tramp Skis, but the trampoline places in vegas are for kids and probably don't allow people strapping planks to their feet.
I don't wanna be stuck doing literally nothing in the off season. There has to be something that I can do that makes the wait more bearable and also makes me better before the season comes. Any suggestions?

How far is the nearest ski hill to vegas? How far to Mammoth?

I think most of the time this thread comes up people suggest core workouts, cycling-especially mountain biking, rollerblades, trampolines and backyard setups.

I follow the 3B's almost religiously even into the season I still follow it and it improves my skiing immensely.

dude for real just buy rollerblades, swallow your pride and take em to the skatepark. best decision I've ever made

buy some razors cults they're stupid cheap and super solid boots

I'd say just pick up another sport, rollerblading or skateboarding is really similar to skiing in some way. And it's pretty easy to meet people at the skatepark.

Ive been riding my bike , walking on slackline, a little bit of skateboard and working alot. . I dont have a place to rollerblade here so none of that. I used to alot as a kid.

You don't need to have skis or tramp skis to tramp train. Obviously it's nice to feel some weight and have grab options but whatever. Make friends with somebody with trampoline. Buy fruit boots.

Also are those the tramp skis that are like $250? That seems like a horrible deal. I'd rather ghetto rig something than spend over 80. I though some of the tramp boards were expensive but jesus. I ended up rocking a shitty plastic snowboards that I had gotten at Ames for $15-20 when I was 8.

I've taped yard sticks to my shoes before. That worked pretty well. didnt add much weight and you could still grab. Idk, trampolines are already hard enough to get a ton of height sometimes. I think too much weigh just kind of kills it.

Check this out. It helps a ton to be in good physical shape when ski season rolls around. You won't necessarily learn any skills per se but when it comes time to ski again, you'll be able to learn faster when your body is physically capable to do what you want it to do. If that makes sense?

In the off season I just get super fit.
I dont really drink or party too hard soooo

I work super heavily on cardio, mad body weight. I train about 6x a week. So when the season roles around I am fit as fuck and can hike and pump for longer

As was said there is Lee Canyon, but during the off season I'd be shocked if anything froze up there at all. Perhaps cross training is my best bet..

That will definitely help in terms of fitness, I appreciate that building a better base for the winter will most likely help me progress in stability. Thanks for the link man

What are you training for?

Rails - Rollerblades
Balance - Slackline
Strength - Hit the gym

I bet you could find a diving board in vegas. You can practice flips on a diving board or trampoline.

Leg blasters are great but you use more then just your leg muscles for skiing

Hey man! Yeah I feel ya, training through the summer can be hard to get done. A few tips we have would be:
-Keep your stretching going to build flexibility - Stomp those grabs when you do get back on snow
-Build strength in the gym - Deadlifts, squats along with others are great for building the explosive power along with helping to prevent injury
-I see you mention our tramp skis - Are you aware that these also work with our jib bar to help train your spins, slides and presses without needing a trampoline.
-And hey, if none of that works, just sit and watch ski movies on repeat until the first snow flies.
