TRVP_ANGELYeah i have been for third of a season, it is the most rewarding job in the world :3, the trick is to get placed on bunny hill duty. Now bare with me, it might seem really boring at first but I found it really exciting! xD First, I stand at the top of the rolling carpet and whenever it looks like someone fell and is having a hard time getting up, I ski on over and first go through my checklist:
1. are they female?
2. are they hot?
If both points checkout, then I always have a line rehearsed at the back of my mind: "Oh my god! You look hurt! You also look really cute my lady *tips brim of bern helmet* But don't worry, I'm a veteran snow patroller! :D and here to get you off as safely as possible" and then I proceed to do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on them (it's important to get the tongue in there to open up their trachea for airflow!). A lot of times they will start pushing me back or others will come by to help but I always get them to keep their distance and reassure everything is A-OK :) (after all I am a patroller and have authority on the hills x3) After a solid minute of doing this, I get them back on their feet and send em on their way down the hill. Due to their ability on skis, they usually won't have time to be courteous and say Thanks after they're up, but that's okay because being a snow patroller is really a thankless job :/ The last time I did it though, another set of fellow patrollers stormed in on me, all angry, as if they've been waiting for me really inpatiently, asked me to show id, and then took my patroller jacket away "because I'm not actually Jake". Anyways, I'm now banned from that resort but I have to say volunteering for snow patrol is definitely a role everyone should try out. The experience, friendship and connections you make are really everlasting. AMA
