Newschoolers Fantasy Football Money League V.7

Football season is right around the corner and there is nothing better than some good ol newschoolers fantasy football. TheBearJew is stepping down from commissioner and I will be taking over for the season. The league will be a $25 dollar buy in, same rules as last year. 12 man league, snake draft, half point (0.5) PPR. For payment, we take PayPal, Venmo or Cash App.

Here is the list of participants from last year who have priority to return for this upcoming season. If there is an opening we will select from the waitlist to fill those vacancies. So if you are trying to get in on the fun make sure you post in the thread and remember it's first come first serve.

yikes, minnesota shut the lions down harder than the fucking jets did. oh well. at this point, im just here for divisional upsets and the glorious turkey day game.


also, did Whitehead really just get ejected for that little lovetap on that guys helmet? The packers obviously arent my favorite team ever but that was one of the weakest calls ive ever seen in football. Fucking Suh didn't even get ejected for stomping on rodgers a few years ago. Thats insane.

That was full blown bullshit. That was nutty, considering shit like the WV player doing "horns down" when he scored over the weekend (if anyone saw that game, it was kinda badass lol) didnt get ejected.

I dont wanna get on a manly man soapbox but fuuuck that noise, I like seeing some good ol chirpin like that. Its sports, deal with it and if you cant hang, get the fuck out.

How about that Micheal Thomas touchdown celebration? I love seeing the young guys paying homage to the ones who came before them. Also, did anyone watch MNF and noticed how the cowboys allowed the Titans to blatantly disrespect the star?

Saw that haha. I had forgotten it was a Saint who did it originally. When he first went for it I just remember Terrel Owens.

Also yeah the star thing, I think T.O. did that too one time after a TD. Ran the ball all the way back to the center of the field. Haha yeah here

i'm petrified of making a trade in this league for that reason. one player can be a make or break on any given week, especially with the 5-4/4-5 log jam. despite the fact that i desperately need a consistent RB2.

i have both. i'm trying to stack Fitz/Jackson but everytime i start Jackson he goes for single digits and when i bench him, he goes for 20+. intensely frustrating.

i didn't really anticipate a 6-2 Panther's team totally not showing up on TNF. don't see 50 burgers in the NFL that often.

Yeah it was the perfect week, my team that i have james white on went off for 145, perfect timing for a bad week.

the Golden Tate trade was problematic. had him on a wk6 bye with Detroit then wk9 bye with Philly, then effectively another "bye" with two catches on four targets.

i take solace in the fact that even if i had played Big Ben and Mike Davis, i still would not have won. it wasn't meant to be for me.

odd week for the Patriots to forget that James White exists... when they can't score, they can't keep the quarterback clean, and Gronk is playing tiddlywinks on the sideline. another curious game plan by McDaniels. doesn't bode well for me as a Patriots fan or White owner.

is anyone else having major trouble streaming defenses and kickers? my goodness, i couldn't get 5pts out of a defense for the life of me. also - Cody Parkey hit the uprights four times on sunday... 4 times! that has to be a record.

Yeah the Titans just had their number, basically if you've been on a patriots team before, player, coach, front office, you dominate the pats (patricia, coughlin, vrabel) I'm sure everything is going to be fine, TB will be checking down in no time.

As for DST/K positions, I have found kickers to just be annoying, I wouldn't mind completely removing them from fantasy football because its so random and impossible to predict. DST is almost the same, it's annoying when you picked up a team like Chicago then they lose to Osweiler etc. The best solution I have found is playing safe DSTs and switching up my kicker everyone once and awhile, regardless of performance.

i'm kind of with you on that. isn't a good kicker performance kind of predicated on an otherwise poor offensive performance? barring instances where teams like the Saints are putting up 51 points in a game, it's generally a bad sign for a kicker to be attempting 4-5 field goals in a game.

defenses are a nightmare, especially with the way the game is legislated on the field. they just don't have a chance.

there's one defense with over 100pts (fantasy points). that's insanity.

I usually try to just ride one kicker if possible. Lucked out being able to get Tucker this year. Not that he puts up a lot every week but he's incredibly consistent and the Ravens are a halfway decent team which means I expect them to at least get in scoring position.

Defenses are another story with me. I usually try to look for a defense I can keep for 2 or 3 weeks. I'll look at the upcoming schedules and try to select the team with the softest match ups. It's too much work to try and flip a new defense every week.

I cant believe I'm in the position im in this week, after the thursday game i was like a 20pt underdog to Logan now I'm projected to win by 16... i almost need to not look at my lineups until 10pm sunday night lol
