Anima freebird vs atomic backland

Hi,
Ive been looking at new powder skis for next season, im an intermediate/advanced skiier. Was planning on heading to Fernie for the season after doing the last season in WB. Will only be using the new skis for big powder days as have thin skis for the off days. Id ideally like the skis for inbound powder days and also the odd day touring. Was wondering if the anima would be too floppy for normal powder day charging and if it would be better to go for the thinner backland 109 and have the skis be a little heavier for the touring days.
would be great to get opionions on both skis!
Thanks.

Both are great skis, the backland would be a bit stiffer but still a very fun ski for both inbounds and touring.
The Anima is little more playful and will hold its own a bit better in the suuuper deep stuff because it’s 115 waist.
Also, Black Crows do some other skis similar to the Backland such as the corvus and atris. Give both their normal and feebird versions a look.

Anima freebird flex can be compared to Armada JJ = soft. If you are really going to use them only on powder days - you will be good to go. But once things are chopped a bit, they start to flop really bad. Take a look at Moment Bibby/Wildcat or Bibby/Wildcat Tour - if you look for more touring oriented ski. Amazing ski for pow days and days after pow days :)
