I'm new to this site, but need to vent to someone after blowing up a pair of Fischer Motives after a couple of days.
Here's the background info:
I purchased a set of 168 cm used from a guy who literally used them twice. Skis looked brand new! Except for the binding holes being filled. Mounted a pair of Griffons and went skiing. Looked down on second day and noticed that the cosmetic top-sheet looked like it was being edged off right in front of toe piece. I thought if I had scraped it off there I would have crashed hard. I didn't release the whole weekend. Skied a few more runs and noticed the BOTH inside top-sheets were bent upward and the titanium had "torn".
I'm a 50ish guy who's more of retired skier as I'm only out 3-5 times a year and had a 15+ year gap mixed in too. Ski classify myself as Level 3. Not a big guy, maybe 165lb.
Anyway I know it's buyer beware with used gear, but these looked new. And I have purchased used skis and redrilled prior.
Are these skis crap? Reviews seemed good. Just a coincidence?
As they're used I'm sure a warranty claim is out of the question.
Anyway thanks for letting me vent.
