Been skiing for 45+ yrs so real replies.. My favorite bumper sticker is I'm old as fuck but I can still shred harder than you(not very hard) applies. I decided to tweak my boots w/ Zip Fits after 55+ days one more time(home hill for 35+yrs closes 4/8, Yup Jackson )but have 20+ days in at Tahoe coming up if it stops raining.. I love my new custom ON3P's and Atomic's Hawk 130 that were dialed most of the season except for the area around the spine of the Achilles. Bottom of the heal down. Been adding cork to Zip Fits around ankle but hard to get into the Achilles area. Flex all good.. Local great Boot fitter/Zip Fit said do the Fischer Vacuum Fit to help mold the shell to the Zip Fit better. So I did. 1) I still feel space around the Achilles so is it the shell or the Zip Fit? Did the cork move away during process? 2) By doing the vacuum fit I noticed I had to set buckles higher bcuz of the compression(smaller shell) and noticed the Flex of the boot was way stiffer and harder to flex possibly bcuz more plastic overlapping across the front w buckles higher according to another trusted fitter? True? Thanks and Enjoy Pow..

When you say "hard to get into the Achilles area", are you saying that it's hard to get more cork into the Achilles area, or that it is hard to get your foot to sit properly in the Achilles area after adding cork?
During Fischer's compression molding, it is entirely possible that you simply squished the cork out of the area it should be in. But I don't have a lot of experience with Zip Fit liners...
