chef_boyardeeSo what you're saying is that you prefer rail hits and actual jump tricks to butters and presses? Fair enough, but i don't think "spinning around on there noses and tails without leaving the ground" is an accurate description of everything the bunch are doing these days, especially when considering that the bunch consists of a fairly large group of people, with great diversity of tricks, ability, etc, who are doing a lot of different things. Also, have you seen Interpretation? I assure you it contains lots of "style/gnarly urban shit/creativity/cool editing/music"
Down3FilmThe bunch is a group of really talented skiers who enjoy doing weird shit and make interesting videos from it. Do I like it? Absolutely not. I think its stupid and doesn't even come close to as entertaining as people skiing with aggression and sending gnarly tricks to normal human music. But thats just my PERSONAL opinion.
Tonnes of people love the bunch and there is no doubt that they have positively contributed to the skiing community. Im tired of seeing so many of the same threads concerning peoples PERSONAL opinions about certain ski groups. As long as a group of skiers is creating content that helps the ski community spread throughout the world, they're killing it.
Keep doing what you're doing @thebunch
artdamageIf you wanna wear triple XL tie dye tees and do 5's all day while stoned out of your mind, go for it.
Rparrlmao shit that's the best description of old wave/og/older style whatever the fuck you wanna call it
nostreboRDefinitely a good edit but people dont get famous off shit that small. Is that really all the hype?
ski.the.eastthis is my personal fave, the features may be small but the vibes are unreal
skiermanlol what jibes? All I saw were a bunch of blind twos, straight slides and small spins on small jumps. Most people with respect for themselves would never make an edit with shots like that.
lukas.jpegon a phone keyboard with a broken hand
skiermanI disagree. To say they're going "downhill" is to imply they were "on top of it" at one point. If anything I think most people are now exposed to the 98% of the skiing the Bunch fanboys do which is a complete joke. Only two kids with that flair can do gnarly stuff that's respectable. The rest swing around like idiots and pass off fuck-ups as something they meant to do on purpose. Its an excuse for most to stay relevant without having to actually be good at skiing.Exactly the new wave was cool when Magnus did it but now its just soft 15 year olds who want to be good at skiing without taking risks
ski.the.eastwell for starters, I'm not a huge fan of the first minute but after that its got a beautiful fleet foxes song (which I'm definitely bias for), and the skiing matches up with it pretty well. For me personally it reminds me of early season shredding with friends on the east coast just making the most of the small features before the bigger stuff goes up, and it's mixed in with some excellent b-roll like at 3:47 cruising through the trees hitting little side booters. To me this type of edit is more relatable than someone hitting xgames sized jumps throwing triples to hip hop. Crazy technical edits are cool too but I think theres a place for edits like this too. I've loved this years now, it feels so nostalgic and relatable and I'm a sucker for stuff like that
skiermanSo you love to watch edits where people are as bad as you?
patskis22Yo, its pretty simple. People find inspiration to ski a certain way. Then all the little hype boys on the internet give it a label. If you're a Swedish kid, you're gonna grow up wearing track suits and shit (they've always worn that in Europe) and other stuff inspired from European culture. Think about it. A lot of us American skiers were inspired by american hip hip, back in the pants saggin flag hangin dayz. The way ur gonna ski comes from the product of your environment and where you learned to ski/ who you looked up too. It just looks foreign to us because we've never experienced that side of life. (ex. Sweden) Its all up to interpretation. But at the end of the day, Magnus & friends are better skiers than most the trolls on this site.
They're out here making a career doing what they love!
midwesternmaniacSo that's why all the kids in Wisconsin dress like farmers when they ski?
midwesternmaniacWell, everyone has their golden days. Look at 4bi9 or stept. Everyone has a peak. I wasn't around in those days but I can always appreciate the work put in. Will say though, I agree the finesse days were alot more hype. That movie changed my life fr and my outlook on skiing a million times over
buenoYou couldnít be more wrong about Stept peaking, they pretty much used their leverage as professional skiers to build up a film brand (obviously their films were amazing) and now theyíre nonstop doing work for Oakley, Nike, Under Armour, you name it. Put some respecc on their name
patskis22Maybe dude never been to wisco. In Vermont where Iím from kids are all about carhardt. Itís durable af tho I see why
VinnieFWell yea, they go downhill every time they do a run.
EthanvzThe hood crew is better.
skiermanThat group of posers are pretty much the same thing now. its unbelievable how fake they are.
