Hey guys,
Age: 23
Height: 5'6in
Weight: 150lb
Gender: Male Location: PNW
Looking for something that i can use for all mountain. Groomed runs, Pow, and trees.
I'm a relatively new skier, have gone about 6 times and feel that I have learned very fast. I am comfortable on any green and blue run but still haven't tried anything above those levels. I recently just got my parallel turns down and can keep the skis parallel throughout the turns but if i hit any bumpy steep patches, my turns become a little wonky. Just need to have more confidence to ski down those parts fast rather than slowly. Other then that I quite confident with going fast, while keeping everything controlled.
My current skis are the Rossi Exp BA 77 2017/2018 (160cm length), which are intended for beginner to intermediate skiers. I experienced my first pow day and found the skis quite difficult to pick up speed and turn in as the skis seemed to sink under the snow instead of floating on top of it. It became a lot easier to control them when going faster on the pow, but I love going through the trees and i found even when i tried to go a little faster between the trees, the skis couldn't keep up.
I have found these skis at a local store that I am very interested in buying as they are on sale and seem to be something that could work for me. Volkl 90eight ski 2018

*Also thinking of upgrading from 160cm in length of skis to 170cm in length of skis. Would this be okay based on my height and weight?*
I would appreciate if I could get someones opinion if I should look to upgrade skis, or stick with the beginner skis for the rest of this season and next season.
P.S. I bought ski boots from a boot fitter, so my boots aren't a problem as they feel perfect on.
Thanks!! : )
