Anyone else ride a boot size bigger

FYI - a boot that is too big will cause MORE toe bang, not reduce it.

If your boot is the proper size and shape for your foot AND you have supportive footbeds purchased in addition to the boot, then you shouldn't have any toe bang at all.

So, make sure you have the proper size (1.5-2cm shell fit), in the right shape for your foot, and with footbeds.

I got custom heal lock footbeds. The boots were 28.5 and fit perfectly, then I put footbeds in and now my toe jams and feels rtight all the time, Even with molding. I'm just frusterated because I never hear anyone complain about toes when they land in their back seat hard. I feel toe bang almost anytime landing wrong. I'm wondering if I just go one size up, it'll keep my toes away from the top.

That sounds like the boot doesn't fit. Going a size up is only going to make the problem exponentially worse.

Go to a fitter and look at boot options. It is likely you are in the wrong shell.

Dumb question, but did you take the original footbeds out before you put the custom ones in? What kind are they? Are they super thick?? What boots to do you have? Are you using very thin ski socks?

Usually when you get custom footbeds, you tend to have more space in the toe box than before...

If the footbed is correct, then you are likely just the wrong shell for your foot or it is too high in the instep area (too much space here allows your foot to slide forward).

Let's do the golden test:
1. Remove the liner from the shell
2. Step into the shell with a thin ski sock on and slide your foot to the front of the shell so your toes just barely touch.
3. Examine the gap behind your heel.

1cm = high performance race fit
2cm = normal
3cm = too big, start with a new boot.

Custom heal lock foot beds, normal thin ski socks, and when I took the liner off and put my foot in, zero room between heal and back of Liner. Using classic full tilts

Heel and back of liner? What? You should be doing the check between you heel and the back of the shell....no liner

Well there's about 1-2 cm gap, idk what to do man. Broke my toenail real good two days ago. 28.5, toes feel jammed all the time even when riding shit like moguls. Even though I measure at a 28.5. Idk man

I get toebang when I land backseat too... that's why I learned to ski and now I don't land backseat

If you are in the right size, with good footbeds, then you have two possible explanations for what you are experiencing:

1. While the right size, this is the wrong boot for you. If the boot is too low in the toe box AND too high volume over your instep, then your toes are doomed. You need a boot with more toe room and a lower instep (usually this can be done with some boot-fitting tricks like making space in the toe box and adding a 3-5mm heel lift).
2. Your boot is right for you, but your technique is to blame.
