Looking for a ski to ski 50/50 park and all mountain. For park all I do is hit jumps so I need something poppy but stable. For all mountain I just want something I can take in the woods hit tons of natural jumps and try to find all the natural features on the sides of trails. Just looking for something fun and poppy but also stable on landings. Just something to mess around through the park or on the trail. I'm staying in the 85-90mm range since I ski the icy east coast in upstate NY and 85-90mm will withstand most the "powder days" we get. I'm 5ft 7in and 170lbs advanced skier. With research I think either the Armada Arv 86's or the Faction Candide(CT) 1.0 fit my needs the most but cant decide between the two. I'll probably either mount true center or -2cm from true center.
Even for the east coast....i would go a little wider like mid 90s if you are actually doing 50/50. Take a look at the sego Big Horn 96 it sounds absolutely perfect for you.
Both are similar skis with the Faction being a slightly wider, symmetrical ski that would be a touch more “All Mountain” friendly because of the added width especially on the tail compared to the ARV86. The ARV86 can be had for $200 less so it’s definetly the better deal of the two.
I’d consider the ARV96 for still $100 less than the 1.0 that would be even higher performance all mountain than either of these 2 as it’s not only wider but slightly stiffer than the 86. Would work great in the East still and it’s an amazing buy at $499.
