I've been skiing for five years and I got bored on the hill so I decide to try out the park. I think it's really fun. I can do 50/50's on a box with me eyes closed. We have a flat-down and a dance floor box at the hill (that's what the other guys call it). I can 180 and ski switch. I want to be able to slide rails. There's an overwhelming amount of tips out there, so I thought I'd ask the experts.
Should I learn to box slide sideways first? I can do a shiftie on a box. There a thick pipe halfway in the ground, a higher up ride on flat rail (not too long), and a long thinner tube rail. What should I try first? How long did it take you to build your confidence with rails? Is it easier or harder than it looks?
On a side note, how do I 180 on a box? I saw someone land, then spin on the box, then slide off switch and it looked pretty easy but I can't seem to do it. Should I jump onto it already spinning or just lead with my upper body when I get on?
Thanks.
