scoobsDoes it matter? Trying to buy a rack for my car before I move west. My car has cross bars so I was thinking the Big Powderhound for Yakima or the Universal for Thule. Thanks!
Heyo, I work at a car rack shop so I thought I'd toss in my input. If you're looking for a ski rack just for skis on your crossbars id say either the Yakima Fatcat 4 or 6 or the Rockymounts LiftOp Biggie or Smalls. For me personally, I'm more biased towards the fatcat since it has a spring loaded hinge which allows you to maximize space without stressing the more plastic parts of the rack. That being said, the LiftOps are a bit cheaper and will definitely get the job done if you're on a budget. Also, with both of these racks, in order to put them on and take them off you need to access the inside of the rack so it needs to be unlocked. With Thule ski racks and 90% of Rhino's ski racks you can easily take the racks on and off with just your fingers which is a turn off to me. Hope this helps my dude!
