These are some sad fucking times we live in. I really always hoped they'd come out with an AIM app at some point.

Sure it's been pretty dead for years but still. The final nail in the coffin to seal it's fate still hurts in a way. I thoroughly enjoyed every time we'd get a resurgence on AIM. Everyone back on their old handles, away messages, profiles, etc.

It wasn't overly complex, but it was fucking brilliant.

End of an era. "What's your AIM?" shall be heard no more (although it hasn't been heard in a very long time anyway).

No shit. Some people see AIM and it means something, some people see instant messenger and it means something. I could have kept the AOL in the thread title to add characters and make you feel better. Next time remind me.

I think NS profiles used to have a spot AIM usernames, I always wondered what it was. MSN Messenger/mIRC were the go-to before Skype kind of took over.
