I'm looking to buy the new line chronics but Im not convinced that they're the best skis for me... Any chronic owners have any pros or cons about the ski that would be great
PROS:
Super fun to ski, poppy, turn well, low swing weight and very stable for a medium/soft flex ski.
CONS:
Kinda heavy (1798.2g per ski at 178cm), topsheets chip really bad (core above the sidewall was fully exposed in tips and tails on both of my skis), Measure really short. (178cm is acutally a 175cm, 185cm is a 182cm).
If you don't mind having a ski with a hacked up topsheet, they're really fun skis.
It rides great and will do everything you want to do with ease.
If the top sheet is giving you problems, just find clear nail polish, superglue, and spare stickers/tape. Clear nail polish will give a temporary seal from water, then you use the superglue to give it a more lasting seal. The stickers are to prevent the glue from expanding as it dries so you don't have bubbles of glue making your ski look weird. Just remove the stickers after about 24 hours and any excess glue. Add another coat of nail polish and your good as new.
I switched to line skies this year after trying a few different companies can honestly say I love my chronics and will most likely be getting next years the only down side I find is chipping besides that they are super fun to ski
