I've currently got a pair of 2009 K2 ObSethed, contemplating upgrading to something more recent...I'm more of a powder monkey but given I only tend to ski a few weeks a year I have to take whats given to me in terms of snow conditions. Ideally the ski would be something around min. 100mm underfoot, decently floaty so that it really excels on any deep powder sessions but that is still skiable and relatively fun on groomers, cruddy/chopped up snow. Whilst I really like the ObSethed, I'm looking for something that is a bit lighter and doesn't feel like a behemoth.
A couple of pairs that caught my eye:
K2 Marksman
Elan Ripstick 106
Movement Fly Catcher
K2 Pinnacle
I was also contemplating getting something that would suit touring bindings, so that should I decide to embark on a ski touring/back country trip, my skis are ready for that, rather than having to rent/borrow a pair for any touring-oriented trips. Any entry-level solid touring bindings that might fit this usage come to mind?
Any suggestions welcome!
