Bought new Atomic Waymaker 100 last year, size 26 or 26.5 can't remember which half size it was.
I measured my foot last year with the paper trace method 10.25 by about 4 2/16th inches. So right there I am on the border between a medium and wide fit.
I have large athletic calves and specifically bough a walk/hike boot because I am hurting when standing up on say a gondola.
So last year..... Was in agony. My feet were hurting from new, potentially too small boots. My calves were on fire, I couldn't stand in line without leaning hard on my poles. I even buckled up yesterday and stood in front of the TV for 10 minutes and was hurting. I also removed the rear spoiler yesterday.
Before these boots had Salomon Mission 8, size 27 or 27.5. Strapped those on, definitely some room inside. Those boots are a wide fit. Even when I had those, I was hurting to stand up on a gondola, this time in the quads.
Both boots gave me quad burn, waymaker serious calf burn.
At this point if you are me do you....
1) Go out get new boot with a wide calf fit and probably go up to a 27
2) Take the Waymaker to the boot fitter
3) Quit skiing
