We are going to spend the whole month skiing. What is Sölden like in early October?
Any other suggestions where we should go for mostly park skiing? What is the best place to stay?

leprechaunsissyEurope is like the US. You will find the odd park, but to plan for a month of skiing in October - like a European coming to the US to ski Abasin for the whole month of October.
JibberinoI'm sorry, but that's just not true. Like i said earlier, Hintertux normally opens in late september, and by early october they will most likely have a 50-60 foot jump line, and 30+ jibs. Stubai will follow suit by early october as well, with an even bigger triple jump line, plus the infamous monster jump that is probably between 80-100 feet.
By mid/late october you will also have Kaunertal, Dachstein and Kitzsteinhorn all with awesome big parks.
Since you said Europe, there's also all the Swiss glaciers to choose from, they're all up and running now and will run through october/early november.
So yeah, in that respect Europe is not at all like the US.
leprechaunsissyLol you aint been to europe, son.

Julius_SteezerYeah I agree those resorts have sick parks, just not in October
They downscale the parks after "summer skiing" is done
JibberinoReally? That's strange, could've sworn I was born here. And strangely enough I lived in Innsbruck for 5 years, so I feel like I have got what you might call first hand experience, especially when you take into consideration that I used to work in one of said parks. Stop making an ass of yourself.
Funny thing is October is a relatively long time period, and like it's stated below, the glaciers will start opening in late september/early october. By the time we're halfway through october, the parks will, conditions permitting, be much bigger than they are in the summer. The thing is that none of the Austrian parks really offer that much summer skiing, only Hintertux will stay open after the 1st june. So I guess we can conclude you don't really know what you're talking about.
All this being said, October is a precarious month, you will definitely have skiing, but the conditions will most likely vary quite a lot as the month progresses, with late october being the best. Then again I have also skied waist deep pow in mid October, so let's hope for that!

leprechaunsissyInnsbruck....pfffff
JibberinoSnappy.
leprechaunsissyI mean, fair enough...Innsbruck is great. I ski the dolomites, so I guess I probably view this conversation from an entirely different level.
JibberinoI just stated facts.
leprechaunsissyRight now I am in Bonaire which is a Dutch island but obviously does not have skiing.
Evidence that while yeah, Innsbruck, meh...October skiing cannot be had across all of Europe.
JibberinoNot sure what you're trying to say here.
leprechaunsissySimply to say one can ski anywhere in europe im october is a flawed argument.
