So I've been back and forth on this for the past few weeks or so but at this point I'm just gonna say fuck it and try to ski every month out of the year. That being said it doesn't look like I'm going to have many opportunities to make it work out but still gonna go for it anyways.
I'm looking to hit up Hood on the 31st of August and the 1st of September but I wasn't really sure what the best way to go about it would be. The easy option is to obviously just buy lift tickets for both those days but to me that doesn't seem like the most fun. I'll probably buy the lift tickets either way but I was wondering if it would be worth it to still hike around above palmer to try and get some real turns. I'm still fairly new to the backcountry and I've never been to hood before so I was just looking for some advice/pointers etc from any of you guys who know the mountain.
I have most of the necessary equipment to hike around and can get my hands on the rest of the gear needed fairly easily. I was just wondering if there was a specific route that would be better to stick too or if it's even worth it this late in the summer.
Thanks in advance
