TheRackerI've thought about this as well, if you are the person pushing the sport farther than it ever has been and coming up with new stuff, what does a coach do for you? It's not like the current gen of pro skiers has ever come close to what they're doing now. Do coaches just critique minor stuff like takeoffs/landings and come up with a stretching/lifting routine for the athlete?
For a pro skier, a coach would probably do all the little shit to help them maximize their performance. That may be through technical analysis or simply making a road map for tricks on how to get where they want to be. A coach would also do most of the management for for comps, travelling and just making training accessible.
