Ski Friend Rules

So a friend of mine and I have a set of rules we have established after skiing together a lot that we feel represent how to be the best ski friend you can possibly be.
For example, you are NOT a true friend if you stop the camera when the other one eats shit, that's the stuff you gotta capture no matter what. We're wondering what other rules people have learned that are essential to being the best ski friend possible

Never take yourself too seriously
If you are filming, make sure you give a thumbs up for the rider to let them know when to drop.
And if people are buying pitchers, you buy a pitcher, don't be a leech.

At least take one of your ear buds out while on the lift or turn down your music. Nothing worse than trying to have a convo and just sitting in silence the whole way up.

1) Don't talk shit about your friends if they're on another chairlift. (Unless they're an actual d-bag)

2) Always grab someones skis/poles if they ysrdsale, even if you don't know them.

3) Always spray that douche that cusses you out for yardsaling in the landing.

When riding in the city:

Check landings for rocks, spikes, obscure objects that you would not want you or your friends to land/ fall on. If that stuff is obvious on the surface, you'll already know to move it, but sometimes it's buried in the snow.

Rebuild trannies when they fall apart. It's a pain and your friends may tell you not to bother since they want to run up and hit the feature again, but 1. It'll make it easier to ride the tranny and lace a trick 2. It makes things safer so you/ your friends are less likely to get hurt when riding down some busted ass tranny (better for your knees specifically)

These are both things that can make a big difference and should always be avoided. Gotta watch out for the safety of you and the team!

If you call a trick, you have to do it.

So if you're at the top and you casually say "Yeah I'm thinking Rodeo 9" you have to do it.

My main skiing buddy does both of these. "I dont like geeeeeting up sooooo earlyy" fuck you man I only got 1 Saturday!

Also, he blasts his music on the lift and as a result not only is there no conversation on the lift but he's borderline freaking deaf...

Yea I have a buddy buddy that would never get to the hill until 4 when I was about ready to leave since I usually got there around 9.

yeah, being sort of competitive to a degree can make a day really fucking great, but trying the same trick right after the other person fails in order to one up/prove a point or some shit is fucking lame.

d brown nailed the powder day myth. Different story if someone is lingering in the base area, being lazy or some shit, but bad shit happens riding deep snow/big terrain solo.

my fucking god does this piss me off, my roommate does this shit every single fucking day you can talk to him for an entire lift ride and he will nod or say yah in agreement then towards the top its like what were you saying a few minutes ago... Makes me want to throw him off the chair. As well as other homies if I am ten feet away from you yelling your fucking name and you can't hear me you need to turn that shit down it is not safe at all

Been stuck friends left me head first buried for 20minutes scary as all fuck. Nothing worse than digging over your head then realizing you're completely upside down
