anywhere in quebec has siick poutine. chip wagons are also a safe bet. if you are in the tremblant area, the lodge at the top of tremblant has really good poutine, albeit a bit pricey, but hey, youve got that american currency.

... um.. the poutine at tremblant is a disgrace. They dont even use curds. how could you possibly condone it.... shame on you.

in ottawa, the best poutine is at S&G's on carling and merivale, and if youre downtown, try a chip stand... most of them have solid poutine. on the way to mt ste marie, Jean Burger has some good gravy.

^Essentially: Fries covered with gravy and melted cheese curds. It really is the best stuff ever... I don't actually mind the cheap junk that mountains tend to substitute for poutine. I've never found an actually decent place for poutine in Vancouver. The old Frisco had the best fries, but I never had poutine there.

I dunno... Poutine on hangover might not be the best idea... but at other times, gravy is the best possible thing to put on fries, aside, possibly, from chili and stuff.

yeah, the imitation poutine at most ski hills is all right.. but it shouldnt be touted as the best for americans to come try..

la belle province is good.. i once ate an entire large one by myself.. it took 3 hours... but man it was good...

it has red bbq sauce.. the quebecois i know dont dig the bbq sauce

there's a damned good cheese shop in madison, wisconsin if you want some cheese curds. i think i'm gonna have to try and make my own poutine next time i go there.

the only canadian poutine that i've had though was at searchmont in sault ste. marie. and they used shredded mozzerella. it was aaight.

The best poutine I've ever had was the little place by the ultramar in Tremblant, but I haven't found a place in Van that does it anywhere near as good as back in Quebec. The closest is Zog's in whistler. For some reason, nobody can get the sauce right. I figure if quebeckers can, anybody should be able to...

the best kind of poutine is the kind that you can actually feel your arteries start to clog up when you're done eating. the best Poutine you'll find at a franchise place is La Belle Province, if you're feeling adventurous try an Italian Poutine(meat sauce, curds, fries), and a Galvaude(chicken, peas, gravy, fries). but the all time best poutine you'll ever find are always at the little casse-croute places around everywhere.

and yeah, itd be mighty helpful if you said where you're going in canada. i'd be able to give you good places to go for a 200 mile radius around montreal.

whenever i'm hungover, i always start my day with a big greasy italian poutine. when you're able to do that, you know you're not gonna throw up for the whole day.
