How much discomfort is normal in ski boots?

Hey,

i was discussing this with my friends after a day of skiing.

Obviously your foot is getting out of a stiff plastic shell and with jumping, crashing and pretty strong forces on your feet there is some pressure? Even after 2 hours of soccer i have some kind of "pain" in my feet...

Or do you guys have no problems whatsoever after a full day of shredding?

Does it have to do with weight? How you are skiing e.g. cliffs, powder, high speed etc.?

What do you guys think?

I have zero pain during or after skiing, but worked closely with a boot fitter who has a great reputation.
Did you buy them off the shelf or were you fitted ? Even with a boot fitter sometimes it requires adjustments until you solve all issues and it also depends on how much you ski and are used to having ski boots on .

I got fitted for my boots and dont really have pain, its more like discomfort and relief when i can take my boots of. I still might be in the wrong boot, i dont really trust the bootfitters here in europe.

Pretty much all of my friends said they do have some kind of discomfort, thats why I was wondering how its for you guys...

you probably should trust the boot fitters because you shouldn't even have discomfort

Overall I don't have any discomfort but i have some circulation issues on really cold days, but flipping up my buckles on the lift really helps so it's not a huge issue, allows the blood vessels on top of the boot to move the blood more freely

you should have zero pain with ski boots. If your boots/shoes hurt its because they dont fit your feet properly

Sounds like a close tight fit , that's what you want , I do have a massive relief when taking off my boots after a day skiing but that's normal. As long as it's not cutting off the circulation and your not banging your toes against the front of the shell you should be okay. My best guess anyway but I'm not a boot fitter .
