Shoey-SkiSup Ns, I am calling out to all the boyscouts on this site, my troop is heading to Philmont this summer, and I was wondering what past experiences you guys have had at Philmont aswell as any tips you could offer me, haha it's kinda sketching me out the fact that we only are sapposed to bring like 3 shirts and no deodorant and stuff for 10 days.
Ive been to philmont twice with my troop and once with rayado (which i would totally suggest you do) and pretty much half the stuff on their list of stuff to bring is unessential. You can also bring your own camping supplies to use instead of theirs they supply you with cause most of that stuff has been trashed and is heavy. you should break in your hiking shoes if you buy new ones, but dont feel the need to buy new boots just for philmont. buy dont forget rain gear, one day durring my rayado trek it began to rain and we chose not to out on rain pants, because thats for pussies, and then it didnt stop raining until 7 hours later. I was lit. But dont stress too much youll have a great time!!
