Mysterious Chads Gap?

Looking at some old threads about chads gap and I read some fucked up stuff. Will the locals actually kick the shit out of you etc if you are out there? Did they blow it up and lastly why is it so mysterious and hidden?

Locals used to hit whenever there was any snow, and in general locals are pretty territorial in that park and in the backcountry. Also, I heard ski patrol blew it up.
