I live on the east coast and am looking for a pair of skis. I'm 15, 130lbs and am about 5'9. I'm just a beginner I've only been skiing like 5-6 times using friends skis, however i want something I can learn bigger tricks on when I get to that level to. I'd wouldn't like to spend a lot, $600 is the price I'm thinking. I'm looking for a park setup.
If you're looking for quality gear for cheaper prices id try your local Craigslist or the buy sell section on here. At your skill/experience level the skis aren't going to make a huge difference on your progress and the money saved can go to your lift passes which are going to make the real difference.
If you're set on buying new then I'd recommend something with a soft flex, maybe around a 90mm waist, and rocker. It'll make learning to turn happen quicker, and allow you to keep up to your friends.
Try some line tigers snakes? Relatively cheap. You can find decent park skis for cheap at local shops that you might want to try. That's up to you, a new ski like tiger snakes will help with learning because they are light, unlike others like a-bangs or many K2 skis
