New Point Break Movie

Just found out about it this week.

This really saddens me because that movie was fucking epic. I'm trying to get my buddy to watch it because I've been calling him Johnny Utah, and that's when I found out about the new one.

I would throw in money for them NOT to make this, since it's all about the title, and that bringing in the money.

I mean, I understand remaking some 30+ year old movie that most people haven't seen. But why ruin something like this?

One thing's for sure, once this movie comes out there's gonna be an increase in the number of Johnnys being called Johnny Utah.

I'm pissed about this movie too. Point Break is one of the greatest cult classics and now they're interpreting it way too literally and superficially for the remake

I don't know what people are complaining about. I think this is going to be awesome. It's not going to be as campy and cheesy and awesome as the original, but I don't even care. There are so many great movies coming out right now, I'm okay with a mindless action movie, which is all this is going to be.

Idk, some movies just shouldn't be remade. It's not even that they think"Wow we can make a great version or a better version than the original" it's a "this title itself is going to sell a fuck ton of tickets regardless of what we do"

Hopefully it doesn't suck but what's the point.

I know what you're getting at, but I guess I just don't care a whole lot. I mean I'm not sure I'll even see it in theatres (maybe on a cheap night), but I'm still pumped to see it.

Idk, I think the success of some movies was just kind of random. Things you can't replicate. Im surprised the rock isn't in this honestly. Seems like it would be the perfect fit. He could be Bodhi and just blow a bunch of stuff up instead of surfing. It would be way more action packed.

I wish they would just re release stuff in theaters like they did with the lion king if they want to cash in on it, instead of remaking it simply to cash in on the title.


I'll probably watch it, I hope it doesn't suck, but it's rare that a sequel lives up to the original.
