Studying for finals, midterms, or whatever the fuck you call them

what im asking is how do you focus on studying instead of skiing(if you even do study). i mean my thoughts always go back to skiing whenever im studying. maybe its just me but i would think some other people here have the same problem. if you are wondering why my midterms are so late its cause im in highschool and not college. any types of tips are helpful.

Had a 2,000 word essay due at midnight the on Wednesday. I only had 100 words typed up at 7:00 PM. I threw my phone in another, closed all unrelated tabs, sat down, and worked. I set a goal for myself: 70 words per every 2 minutes. I got it done at 11:30, but I still finished it. I then found out that it's actually due tomorrow.

The trick is to realize what is more important.
Schooling and Future > Hobby and fun

Not really a trick to it. Just know why you are in school and know what you want to do. I treat skiing as a treat for when I'm done or stress relief when I need it (Even though I'm in Michigan and we Haven't had snow in about 3 weeks).

Just make a list of things you need to do, do them, then do whatever you want in your free time. I have papers and exams to study for and when I'm done I go out and relax.

i understand the concept yeah but i am just shit at actually concentrating on work. what im trying to say is do you guys have any techniques to stay focused and not start the "oh im only going to spend 1 more minute on newschoolers" cycle. this is what usually happens to me and i was wondering how do you guys restrain yourselves?

Having self control is a good start since without that, none of this would matter. You just need to go in with a mentality like "Oh wow, if I don't do this I'll end up with no future" also having anxiety about your future every waking second seems to help me.

Dude, get the fuck off of NS, stop opening up snapchat to look at stories you've already seen, stop opening up your texts just to see no one has messaged you, stop opening up facebook to look at links from buzzfeed which are click bait, stop going on twitter and looking at humor accounts, and just do your damn assignment. Get a time cookie jar and lock your phone in it, whatever prevents you from distractions, do it.

It's easier to concentrate on school when there is no snow and the weather is shit. I guess that is the only positive of such a terrible winter.

the real key is you need to be motivated, there has to be some goal you are working towards that you want so badly you will do whatever is necessary to get it.

I start off usually by giving myself 15 mins of fooling around on my laptop, then get to it. When I think about skiing I just think to myself "the sooner I finish this, and harder I study for it the more fun skiing will be later". Kinda like you reward yourself with skiing.
