There would be hordes of gapers. Just massive amounts of them everywhere. My home mountain already has that covered though.

A lot of couch jockeys would talk shit on the internet about how their favorite group of skiers is better than the other ones.

There would be fantasy skiing where you predict what trick skiers throw in comps and people would take it too seriously.

Day passes would be $100. My home mountain almost has that covered as well.

One of the main reasons skiing isn't as popular as football is it can only be done in cold and snowy areas. So the only way skiing would reach that status is if it was done only on dry slopes, roller skis, or indoor hills

Lift lines would be ridiculous, skiing would lose some of its meaning, and parks would be swarming with gapers

Or that people cant ski it takes a while for people to get to an accepted states to actall get good or even decent skills just turning and get an ns

The fact that it is an individual sport makes this a difficult comparison. The other issue is that other than a few big air events skiing comps are held mostly up in the mountains and away from the city. It would be hard to house/transport/accommodate a football-sized crowd.

Honestly though it would be cool. Its not as unrealistic as people think it would just require skiing being as popular as it is in Switzerland to get that kind of push.


It would be a mixture between MMA and Roman Gladiators fighting lions. They'd have to let people get ridiculous speed and air to try tricks since they'd be trying to throw too many rotations into current jumps and getting fucked. Big air comps would be 1 run only due to the danger. That would be sick.

If the South won the war and there were 2 countries and we invaded Canada maybe and the USA all lived where it was cold and there was skiing in winter I could see it happening.


Think real life Tony Hawk Pro Skater shit since skis are so fast and powerful and people could get enough air to grind a rail 30 ft away thats up there like a powerline. THat type of shit isn't impossible on skis you could build an obscene course in a major city that resembled a tony hawk map with some snowmaking and such.

I actually wouldn't mind if freestyle skiing was recognized by the NCAA, whatever gets the tuition paid.
