What do you think about the main guy in Star Wars being black? In the past there were only a few black guys in Star Wars. Lando, Mace, Panaka... yet now the main guy is black, and he also has much more African facial structure than the other black guys. I suspect that he was chosen to play the role for political correctness and MUH DIVERSITY.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against black people, I'm not racist, and I recognize that black people have always been a part of Star Wars. I have nothing against that, and I certainly don't think SW should be all white.
But in this case it seems like they are picking a black guy FOR THE SAKE OF PICKING A BLACK GUY and also specifically one with a very chimpanzee-like facial structure. If he just happened to fit the role best I have no qualms but it does seem that he was chosen for some other agenda... like political correctness.
What do you guys think? No racism please, this shouldn't be a racist issue, I just want to know what you guys think about the decision.
Personally I think they shouldn't have chosen a black guy *just for the sake of having a black guy*. Choose the actors regardless of race, race shouldn't even be a factor. Choosing someone just because he is black is racist, having a problem with it is not. I think Lando and Mace are great characters, and the actors were chosen because they fit the role, not because they are black.
Oh and, the main girl in Star Wars 7 is really cute.
