Anyone on NS made a water ramp?

Was thinking of making one this summer coz I'm not going overseas. Anyone done it? Successful?

Some dude made one a while back he lived in Michigan or the UP I believe...I saw the vid ...I'll post it if I find it...seems like it would be hard as hell.

if you did manage to build a ramp or have a hill with some snow flex, they have bubblers under the water to soften the impact, hitting flat water would hurt ... but you should send it anyway...

I mean if you somehow managed to stomp it every time you'd be ok.

But I imagine the whole point of a water tramp is to learn new shit, which means you won't be stomping everything.


Just imagine belly flopping into flat, calm water..

Just sink some pvc tubing with holes drilled and pump are through it exactly the same

if you can afford a run in of snowflex, no reason you cant make some bubbles... SENDING!
also, you could use rollerblades if you get a ramp built at first, are you going to invite us all over?

We did lake jumping on BMX when we were younger. Ride down the dock as fast as you can and send it off a big ramp.

Never done it on a snowboard or skis though

If you make a nice big mellow ramp(mellow would be everything imo) Run a winch from the end of the doc or use a boat/jetski. If using a boat just make sure there's nothing the handle can snag on or don't use a handle.

Lay out an inrun, whether its turf, some carpet and plastic fencing, lattice, and just bomb in and go for it. Just don't fall on the dock.

Also make sure it's deep enough where you're landing before you get too reckless.

Also water can still hurt, so might not be a bad idea to get a decent wakeboard vest. Not only will it keep you a float if you knock yourself out, but it will help make the impacts a little less shitty.

/I've never actually built a setup for this so take it for what it is. That's just what's in my head. Just make sure the jump is long and mellow if you're coming in with serious speed.

this looks sick but i would spend some money on snowflex for the lip so you have at least a little bit of edge control.

I would probably cover those poles on the sides if I were them just to be safe. I mean, coming in at speed. Idk, call me cautious but I would want one less thing that could go wrong. But that looked pretty solid. The first setup was a little too tight. Not enough speed and more pop than I'd run on it. Still sick though

Yeah I've never actually been to one before 😕.

I'll solve the ramp problem first, see how it goes, and if I wreck myself, I'll figure something out with the bubblers

Bubbles are nice, but not needed. If the kids I coach hit the smaller jumps on the ramps the bubbles really only help mentally. Its more the aerial style and larger kickers that need the bubbles. Chances are the ramp you make won't be big enough to justify making the bubbler. That would require an aircompresser, underwater pipes and potentially a generator. Which I'm not sure how handy you are. But would take a buttload of work and money.

Like you said if you get a functional ramp that requires a bubbler then you can worry about it.
