Flying Standby

Has anyone had any luck flying standby?
My current flight out of Denver is delayed +4 hours and counting. At this point, I will get in too late for my Grandmother's birthday celebration, so I'm flying to Chicago and trying from there. How do I go about it? Should I try and book a ticket now, or call the Chi counter and find out about KC flights???
Any input would be appreciated.

id go talk to the people at the check in. they know what flights are available and you will get a better and faster response than anyone on here can give you

Humpswhat airline are you dealing with?


On frontier, trying to catch flights with United or Southwest.
