Asia Traveling Recommendations.

So looking to travel internationally for the first time this fall (Late September-late October) for 3-4 weeks.
Been looking into the south pacific Asia area (Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Bali, Burma) but nothing set in stone yet.

This is my first time traveling abroad and not looking for anything super crazy or expensive. Gonna be planning on staying in hostels mainly to save cash. I just want get out there and see some different places.

I have already been on Skysccanner and finding most airlines round-trip out of LAX are going for 600-700 usd. Should I be looking for cheaper flights?

Just looking for some recommendations or tips. Any useful information would be great. Thanks nsrs.

I went to nepal and it was awesome. It might be weird with the earthquake now but my dad is going back to help with the earthquake soon and I'll let you know how it is and if its worth visiting.

I spent a month in Bali a few years ago, pretty neat, lots of surfing, not too many parties outside the city's. Cheapest hotels about $15-25 a night, homestay's are even cheaper. Could live comfortably on $30 a day. One regret was not spending a few days in Beijing on the way, but did spend a few days in Bangkok on the way home which was cool.

Go to Japan and buy a JR rail pass (about $200). It lets you travel anywhere in Japan for a certain period and is easily the cheapest way to get around. If you're on a budget you can time your trains so that you always travel at night and then you can sleep on the train and never have to pay for accomodation plus then you get a full day in each place. Tonnes of awesome sights in Japan

Go to south Korea and go skiing then try to sneak over the boarder to north Korea without getting shot.

Thailand is absolutely fantastic (but so is much of Asia). If I found flights for $700 or less, I would jump on that shit. Visa is free. It is dirt cheap when you get there. Just avoid the hard party areas (unless you're in to that shit) and it's brilliant. Weather is hit or miss in October, but that means it's less crowded with bloody Aussies.
