just started to embark on a new project with some urban skis, inspired by shea flynn.
My urban skis have white letters on the bottom which are framed by the rest of the black p-tex base.
The bases are already pretty banged up, so I'm removing the white letters (without damaging the core or waterproof inner layer) and then melting the p-tex onto the exposed area, creating an all-black look for the ski.
It looks way sick, but I was wondering if this was a bad idea because it would compromise the integrity of the waterproof layer or the overall performance and durability of the ski base.
I also plan to get a light base grind after I finish applying the p-tex.
