Learning Swedish

Hello NS, my high school only has Spanish, German and French as language classes, I plan to go to Sweden for college (because its free, and my Mom is from there and has family up there) so I don't want to take a language for two years and never use it ever again, so I was wondering if anyone new a way that I could take Swedish online and have it count for credits at my school. Thank you NSers

not sure about school credits but duolingo is pretty cool. http://www.duolingo.com or they have a smartphone app

Being from Sweden I can tell you this, take a language because you will have a much easier time getting jobs and getting into collage with a extra language. And on learning Swedish I recommend finding a private tudor or something like that because Swedish is really complicated.

Learn French, you will 100% use it again. Then it serves as a good basis to continue learning new languages.

OP-I believe this guy does tutoring. He is supposed to be the best.

Well swedish is pretty germanic so you can definitely learn a few things if you take german.

I used Babbel and learned enough to make a fool of myself chatting up Swedish babes. To actually learn the language you'll probably need lessons or just get your mom or her family to teach you?
